More information about the quiz

With this learning style quiz, all adults, kids, and students can see how their brain picks up new information. Are you a visual, aural, or kinesthetic learner?

The Modern Learning Style Quiz

The Modern Learning Style Quiz is a series of 15 preference questions to determine how you absorb information. Unlike traditional versions, the modern test acknowledges that learning style is an unscientific theory. And it only helps the participants find their preferences.

The Four Primary Learning Styles

According to the VARK theory, the four learning styles are Visual (seeing), Aural (hearing), Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic (doing).

Visual

A visual learner is one who absorbs visualized information faster.

Auditory

An Auditory or Aural learner learns verbalized materials more efficiently.

Kinesthetic

Also known as the hands-on learner, Kinesthetic learners familiarize themselves with new concepts through direct engagement.

Reading/Writing

As the title suggests, a Reader/Writer learner memorizes information by simply reading or taking notes.

The Reliability of the Learning Styles (VARK) Theory

Despite being a popular theory, VARK is not based on scientific data. Every research confirms that there’s no correlation between one’s learning style and learning efficiency. In other words, teaching people using their preferred style doesn’t result in better learning.

You Don’t Have a Learning Style; You Have Preferences

Learning happens when the learner understands the idea. And this is directly tied to their background knowledge and ability to relate new information to previous data. Learning style is not a part of this process.

As pointed out by Tesia Marshik, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, “learning is sorted in terms of meaning.” And the medium with which you receive meaning has little to no effect on how well you sort it.

Discover Your Learning Preference Now

Considering the new scientific findings, the Modern Learning Style Quiz only helps you find your preferred learning method. It does not label you with terms like Visual Learner, as such categories shouldn’t exist.

But if you want to know what learning style matches your liking, you’re on the right page. The following questions determine if you’d like to visualize, verbalize, read, write, or experience new material.
