The Guess That Asian Quiz Explained
The test is a series of questions about Asian countries and people. You have to guess the correct answer by looking at the pictures or texts. The goal is to determine how much you know about Asian culture, geography, and looks.
How did it all begin? The Guess the Asian Quiz got popularized by influencers, such as Disguised Toast. Along with other internet personalities, he tried to guess Asian people’s nationality by looking at their pictures. That was the biggest spark for the test to become a thing—and other versions emerged soon after.

How the Test Works
Unlike other Guess the Asian Quizzes, we have a mixed trivia test. So, you’re supposed to guess so many different things about Asians, not just their nationality. Each correct answer equals one point, and you’ll be able to see your results as soon as responding to the final question. (No email or registration is required). Here are the topics that the test covers.
Nationality
The premise of the Guess That Asian Test is to expose how well you can distinguish between different Asian people’s looks. Have you ever heard that all Asian looks the same? That’s why this test exists. We want to know if they look the same in your eyes or just a hoax and stereotypical belief.
Flags
We added a ‘guess the Asian flag’ section to the test to ensure you can’t beat it easily. It’s good to know that, according to the UN, Asia has 48 countries. So, a couple of wild guesses won’t save your butt.
Writing and language
You cannot create a Guess That Asian Quiz without questions about the countries’ languages. That’s why we have a dedicated segment that assesses your knowledge about Asian people’s tongues and writings.
Actors, singers, and politicians
We have a viral quiz called ‘Guess the Anime Character’ in which you have to look at famous characters’ pictures and guess their names. Here, we will do the same thing but with real-world Asians—actors, singers, and politicians. You have to guess the correct names just by looking at the images.
Is It Racist to Play a Guess That Asian Quiz?
Some participants might think it’s a racist test. But that’s not true. There’s nothing wrong with guessing someone’s nationality based on their look unless you’re trying to humiliate or discriminate against them. Calling someone Asian, American, African, or any other nationality is not offensive as long as you don’t have any negative intentions.
The Problem with Other Online Tests
The thing about online Guess That Asian Games is that they are ethnicity- and nationality-exclusive. So, all you get to do is watch Asian pictures and guess where they might be from. However, the one on this page is a completely new take on the test. We added various segments with creative and challenging questions to spice things up and make it even harder for non-Asians to pass.
Can Asians Take the Test too?
Why not. The Guess That Asian Quiz is challenging enough to entertain people from all nationalities and ethnicities. So, you can definitely participate in assessing your knowledge. Fun fact, our data says that there’s no significant difference in the results when the participants are from Asian countries or have lived in one. So, there’s also that.
What Does Your Score in the Guess the Asian Quiz Mean?
A unique feature of the test is that its scores reveal some information about you. So, we can understand how much you know about the continent and what stereotypes you believe in. For instance, most people who strongly believe that all Asians look the same usually score less than 10 points. So, here’s what your results mean if you’re curious to know.
0-5 points: Having five or fewer correct answers indicates that you know nothing about Asian countries and people—except for what you’ve seen in movies and TV shows. You most likely have no Asian friends and have never been to an Asian country. (Most Americans fall in this category).
6-10 points: Guessing up to ten questions is not that bad. It indicates you watch the news and engage in cultural conversations. But it’s still not enough to pass the test. You, too, seem to have no Asian friends. But the good thing is that you seem to be open to getting to know about other cultures and people.
11-15 points: Most Europeans who take the Guess That Asian Quiz has between eleven to fifteen correct answers—which is a good thing. It shows that you’re pretty knowledgeable about Asian countries and familiar with the cultures.
16-20 points: Anything above sixteen in the Guess That Asian Quiz means you’re an expert. And honestly, it’s not a common result.
